Trunk release kit comes with remotely mounted 40 pound Spal solenoid. This kit has over twice the power of a standard trunk release kit and is powerful enough to open almost any car trunk. This kit comes with a wiring and relay kit to allow electric release from most keyless entry alarm remote controls, including all of the Avital & Essex systems that we sell. This kit also includes cables and hardware to remotely mount the solenoid under the rear decklid of the car or to the back edge fo the trunk lid making the solenoid less conspicuous. Compared to typical solenoid installations, this keeps the weight away from the front edge of the trunk lid. In many cases the extra weight on the front edge will keep the trunk from staying open. Solenoid Dimensions: - The solenoid body is 1 13/16 inches in diameter.
